Jim Giese Commercial Roofing installs a full line of roofing systems from industry leaders like Firestone, GAF, and GenFlex®, to name a few major manufacturers. These high-quality systems deliver quick installation and many years of service. The three main roofing systems we offer are single-ply, built-up and modified bitumen.
This roofing system is composed of a single-ply membrane, insulation, flashings and adhesive—all in a rugged and lightweight system. There are three single-ply systems available from Jim Giese Commercial Roofing:
Ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) single-ply rubber roofing makes for a stable roof that requires minimal maintenance and withstands weather extremes including UV radiation.
Polyvinyl chlorite (PVC) roofing systems are resistant to chemicals including grease, oils, fuels and acid rain. Their rugged construction also makes them resistant to tears and punctures.
Thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roofing systems combine rubber with welded seams for a durable and more environmentally friendly roof.
Jim Giese Commercial Roofing also offers built-up roofing (BUR) systems. With BUR, felt plies are layered between asphalt or bitumen to provide a durable and energy-efficient “built-up” roof. Multilayered BUR roofs have been proven since the 1840s to provide extra protection in extreme weather conditions.
BUR systems are especially resistant to damage from wind, hail and snow. A BUR roof’s laminated layers provide a high level of structural redundancy and perform particularly well in hail, snow and high winds. And should a BUR roof ever fail, they are among the easiest to repair.
This system combines asphalt with modifiers designed to give the roof superior durability. Although modified-bitumen roofs are manufactured with up to three plies, they are as easy as a single-ply system to install.
Modified-bitumen systems are manufactured from styrene butadiene styrene (SBS) and are installed using either cold adhesives or hot asphalt. Another bitumen system is APP, constructed of atactic polypropylene and installed with the aid of a roofing torch.
We install either system and reinforce the modified bitumen with fiberglass or polyester, depending on the application. For many Jim Giese Commercial Roofing customers, modified bitumen is the best choice because it expands and contracts easily, and can be finished with a variety of surfaces to give it additional protection from the elements.
